Who or what is an Armchair Politician?
Well, if you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you are one. In my book, an Armchair Politician is someone who cares deeply about the world we live in and happenings in the political arena. It’s someone who’s opinionated and always on the lookout for more insights and information, but is -for whatever reason- not in a position to effect political change in a classical way.
In short, an Armchair Politician is someone who has a lot to say but can often only voice his or her opinion sporadically in the ballot box. If you’ve stumbled upon this site, I bet that you are an Armchair Politician. If you are, then this website is for you. This site was called into being for three reasons:
1. To inform my fellow APs about the latest important developments in world news and politics.
2. To be a soapbox from which I can share my opinions with you.
And most importantly
3. To be a place where all APs are encouraged to climb on their own armchairs and deskchairs as soapboxes and share their opinions with the world.
The world is changing. Politics used to be an elitist club where only those who were in office could make all the changes and only the mass-media had the power to spread their voices beyond their immediate group of friends. Now is the time for the common people to find their voices and have them heard in the ivory towers of the politicians. It’s a good time to be an Armchair Politician.
